How to use the QR Code Generator

How to make a QR code

  1. Choose what it should do: open a link, join Wi-Fi, call you, start a text or an email.
  2. Fill in the details. The code updates as you type.
  3. Pick colours if you like. Dark on light scans best.
  4. Download a PNG for screens and documents, or an SVG for print.
  5. Scan it with your own phone before you print anything.

Ideas for small businesses

  • Menus and price lists that link to your website.
  • Guest Wi-Fi on a counter card, so nobody asks for the password.
  • Reviews: use our Google review QR code tool for a ready-made "Review us" card.
  • WhatsApp chats: our WhatsApp link generator makes a click-to-chat QR.
  • Track scans: add campaign tags to the link with our UTM builder first, so Google Analytics shows how many people scanned.

FAQ

Common questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. These are static QR codes: the link or text is stored in the code itself, so they keep working forever and nobody can switch them off. The only catch is that you can’t change where a static code points after printing, so double-check before you print.

How do I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, type your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, add the password and pick the security type (most home and office networks use WPA/WPA2). Guests scan the code with their phone camera and join without typing the password.

Can I change the colours?

Yes, but keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans best. The tool warns you when the colours are too similar for phones to read.

PNG or SVG?

PNG works everywhere: documents, social media, websites. SVG stays perfectly sharp at any size, so it is best for printers, signs, banners and packaging.

Is it free for business use?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no limits, and you can use the codes on menus, flyers, packaging and ads.
